My partner and I went to see Les Mis at Drury Lane on Saturday May 3 at 5:00 P.M. We had front row seats, as we usually do. With the extreme low prices at Drury, and advanced planning, this is something anyone could do.This was the 9th time I have seen Les Mis, and it only gets better with time. From the opening number to the finale, it was staged beautifully and well executed. The orchestra was amazing as usual. Being in the front, you are able to watch the conductor and the musicians. What extreme talent. From the leads to the ensemble, everyone was spot on. The suicide of Javert was a good effort, but as usual proved a little lame. To many wires and connectors showing, but what are you going to do if you want a guy to fly. Twice members of the ensemble came on stage with pants unzipped/unbuttoned. Something that always gets a chuckle in live theatre, and with the hotness of the guys in the ensemble, I'm not complaining. All in all, this is a spectacular production. The Drury is one of my favorite theaters. The productions there always prove to be well worth the money.
